The Anytime Wardrobe Addition: Satin Blouse

A satin blouse is a fashion staple in most women's wardrobes. They are the perfect compliment to a skirt, a suit or a pair of slacks. They can even be worn with a pair of blue jeans to dress them up a bit.

These types of blouses have been part of women's fashion since the inception of women's fashion.

What is Satin?

Satin is a type of material that has a bit of shine to it. It is more of a process than an actual material. Satin can come from either an acrylic material base of the preferred material base of silk. Silk is processed into satin by a complex weaving process that leaves much floats laying on top of the material to give the material the shiny finish.

Silk that is processed into satin is one of the most luxurious materials there are. This material is used for a host of applications including bedding and clothing.

What To Wear With It

You can wear virtually anything that you choose to wear with a satin blouse. You can wear a skirt with a satin blouse. Typically it is best to mix fabrics when you are wearing a blouse of this type. In other words wearing a satin skirt with a blouse of the same type might be considered over kill.

A great option for these types of blouses are to wear them with ordinary blue jeans. They instantly dress up the blue jeans and add a bit of class to the ensemble.

A perfect option for night time or the office you cant lose with a satin blouse.

Prices

Prices will vary and are largely dependent on from which material base the blouse is made of. If it is based in silk than it will be much more expensive than if it is based in acrylic. Even some acrylic models can be a bit pricey if they come from a well known design house.

You can expect to pay anywhere between forty dollars to five hundred dollars.

Some Things to Consider

An acrylic blouse will be much cheaper and will be easier to care for. A silk based blouse will have to be dry cleaned only which can be expensive an acrylic model can usually be hand washed.

Acrylic also tends to hold up better over time than does a silk satin blouse, but some of the ladies will tell you there is nothing else in the world that feels like silk does and every woman should own at least one real silk satin blouse.
